Custom Pixel Strings
We don't sell "off-the-shelf" strings. We provide customized pixel solutions tailored to your specific prop requirements and controller layout. Every string is hand-inspected and modified to meet our Five-Nines standards.
We don't sell "off-the-shelf" strings. We provide customized pixel solutions tailored to your specific prop requirements and controller layout. Every string is hand-inspected and modified to meet our Five-Nines standards.
No matter the complexity of your display, you can sleep easy at night knowing the Lab has your back. We provide the technical modifications that turn standard pixels into a professional-grade, high-performance light show.
Pixels are the single biggest investment in your show. But the true cost isn't just the string—it's the controller ports, power supplies, and enclosures required to run them.
Most modern controllers can support 800+ pixels per port, yet the average builder only runs 50 to 150. When you factor in the cost of pigtails, memory cards, and power supplies, that under-utilization drives your cost-per-pixel through the roof.
Santa’s Custom Shop changes the math:
Power Balanced Chains: We integrate power balancing directly into your strings, allowing you to safely push your port counts higher without voltage drop.
4-Core Reliability: Our 4-core "leap-frog" data solution ensures that even if you have 800 pixels on a port, one failure won't take down the entire line.
Integrated Signal Boosting: We can build signal regeneration into the strings, eliminating the need for bulky extension cords and "null pixels."
Through our professional partnership with Ray Wu, we offer a level of customization you won't find anywhere else:
Precise Counts: Whether you need exactly 22 bullet nodes or 422 seed pixels, we build it to your spec.
Double-Layer Protection: We go beyond factory standards with multiple layers of marine-grade, adhesive-lined shrink wrap for ultimate moisture protection.
Full 2-Year Warranty: Because of our partnership, your custom strings retain Ray Wu’s full factory warranty.

Traditional Bullets: The "Old Faithful"
Bullets are the standard for a reason. If you are pushing pixels into Coro props (like snowflakes or spinners) or using Perma-track on your roofline, bullets are your best bet.
Santa's Lab Edge: We build these with 4-core wiring and double-shrunk moisture protection so they last twice as long as "bagged" nodes.
Seed Pixels: The "Invisible" Workhorse
If you want a high-density matrix (like on a window or garage) but don't want your house to look like a construction zone during the day, seeds are the answer.
Santa's Lab Edge: We take the pain out of the microscopic soldering and repair required for these ultra-thin wires.
Pebble Pixels: The "UltimateTree"
Pebbles are our favorite for Mega Trees. Because they glow from all sides (omni-directional), your tree looks thick and lush from any angle on the street.
Santa's Lab Edge: Our integrated bungee system means you can build a 33-foot tree with pebbles without a single plastic strip or guy wire.
In the world of addressable pixels, "Core" simply refers to the number of wires in your string. While most of the world runs on 3-Core, Santa’s Custom Shop is leading the transition to 4-Core Engineering. Here is why:
Standard pixels require three paths: Power, Ground, and Data. In a 3-core setup, the data signal runs like a chain link—if one pixel dies, the chain is broken.
The Result: Every single pixel past the failure goes dark.
The Impact: On a daisy-chained roofline or a high-density prop, one $0.30 pixel can kill the "Wow!" factor of your entire display.
A few years ago, manufacturers introduced a fourth wire, and it changed everything. In our customized Ray Wu 4-Core strings, the data signal is shared across two wires (A and B) that "talk" to each other at every node.
How it works: The "A" line hits pixel one, while the "B" line "leap-frogs" through to pixel two. Then "A" jumps to pixel three, while "B" handles pixel four.
The Backup: Because the data is always jumping ahead, if one pixel fails, the signal simply keeps moving. The show stays on.
In reality, the cost difference between 3-core and 4-core is minimal—usually just pennies per string. But the reliability gain is massive. > Santa’s Recommendation: When you are building a 50,000-pixel show, "good enough" isn't an option. We strongly recommend 4-Core Strings for every high-density prop and daisy-chained run in your display. It is the cheapest insurance policy you will ever buy for your peace of mind.
Because we utilize this redundant 4-core technology and our proprietary moisture-sealing techniques, we are proud to offer an industry-leading Two Year Warranty on our custom strings.
Custom Length Strings
Tired of coiling up extra wire or being 2 feet short? Are you still cutting off pixels or soldering multiple pieces together? Tired of carrying around all sorts of tools for field splicing?
You specify the spacing, the connector, and the pixel type (seeds, pebbles, or bullets). Tell us your overall length or pixel count, and we’ll build it to the inch. Whether you need one string or twenty, we build it to fit your specifications.
Integrated Power Balancing
We don’t just "inject" power; we balance it. By building power balancing directly into your strings, we allow you to run significantly more pixels on a single port. This is the secret to high-density matrices and mega trees, allowing you to daisy-chain props, use fewer controller channels, and simplify your setup.
Precision Tensioning
Eliminate the need for heavy aircraft cables or time-consuming plastic strips. We can integrate industrial-grade bungee cords directly into your strings. Perfect for mega trees, pebble trees, and gable fans, our tensioning system provides a clean silhouette and acts as a shock absorber against winter winds.
Signal Boosting
Long distances between props are the enemy of a clean data signal. We can add integrated signal boosters to your strings to regenerate the 5V data signal. This ensures a strong, "clean" signal even across long extension cables, preventing the flickers and jitters that plague standard displays.
