At Santa’s Custom Shop, we believe that every great display is a marriage of art and engineering. That’s exactly what happens when you combine the creative vision of Kat with the technical precision of Charles.
Kat is the creative force that drives our designs. An artist her entire life, she has a unique gift for seeing the potential in a blank yard. While Christmas is our busiest season, Halloween is arguably her favorite—meaning you can expect to see more and more spooky, jaw-dropping innovations coming out of the shop! If you can dream of a concept, Kat will transform it into a design that takes your breath away.
Charles is the "geek" who makes the magic happen. With a lifelong career in Public Safety, Charles understands that reliability isn't just a luxury—it’s a requirement. He knows that when the sun goes down, you need equipment and processes you can depend on 100% of the time. Whether he’s fabricating props from metal, coro, or 3D-printed materials, his focus is always on maximizing your layout to get the best "bang for your buck."
Kat dreams it, Charles builds it, and your neighborhood enjoys it. Together, they are a team dedicated to making your holiday display a stress-free masterpiece.
Every great show has a "Why." For us, it started in 2014 with a simple string of lights and a neighbor who told us that our display made her "feel like a little kid again." That moment of pure joy became our North Star.
We didn't start with 50,000 pixels. We started with two controllers and a 12-foot flagpole tree. Like many of you, we transitioned from LOR to xLights, growing year by year until we hit a devastating crossroads. On October 11, 2023, a faulty electrical receptacle ignited a blaze that consumed our entire shop. We lost everything—the show, a lifetime of tools, and years of memories.
Challenges give you a choice. We chose to take the 24 months of rebuilding to hit "reset." We moved away from "trial and error" and rebuilt our 2026 show from the ground up using every best practice we had learned over the last decade.
The result? A 50,000-pixel show featuring a 33-foot mega tree, moving heads, cold sparks, and P5 panels. And the best part: In the entire 2026 season, we didn't have one single pixel failure.
We’ve made the mistakes so you don't have to. We know what works, what works "in a pinch," and what will leave you shivering on a ladder in sub-freezing weather.
Because we’ve tested our methods in the heat of a 50,000-pixel show, we are confident enough to offer an industry-leading two-year warranty on everything we produce.
Our goal is simple: We want you to spend your season watching the kids dance and the neighbors smile—not replacing pixels in the snow.
